White on White PROJECT
“White on White PROJECT” is a poetic and provoking attempt to push the boundaries of digital art form. Starting point of this project are artworks of the artists such as
Malevich, Mondriaan, Duchamp and others.
For example, in 'White on White 1024 by 768 pixels' series a refference is made to Malevich's “White on white' oil painting. Different shades of white can only be seen when
the spectator slightly tilt her or his head and body to the computer screen. In that way these artworks, though digital and “flat” or two-dimensional, invite the spectator to engage in physical action, creating temporal space in the process. 1024 by 768 pixels in the title refers to the “physical” dimension of the artwork, making a total of 786 thousand and 432 pixels.
